Bowman is one of the top-call woodwind players in the South Bay, playing saxophone, clarinet, and flute in numerous musical theater productions throughout the area. He can be heard on several recordings, including the premiere recording of John Mackey’s Redline Tango with the Thornton Wind Ensemble in 2005, under the direction of legendary conductor H. Robert Reynolds, and the recently released Skywalker Ranch recording by the San Francisco Wind Ensemble directed by Dr. Martin Seggelke. In addition to performing, Mr. Bowman’s “day job” is serving as the director of bands at Simonds Elementary School and Castillero Middle School, and jazz band director at Pioneer High School, all in San Jose, where he instructs over 300 fourth through twelfth grade students in band each day.
